Marc Nordon Racing was established in 1998. MNRLtd.Co.UK is a designer and manufacturer of sports and racing cars located in Yorkshire England. The key principals of MNR are Marc Nordon and father Chris.Marc certainly has a performance pedigree having been involved in motor racing since 1988 when he was karting alongside a certain Jensen Button before progressing through the ranks and into the rarefied atmosphere of the British Touring Car championship, in 2000 when he raced a Nissan Primera for Nissan GB on a semi-works basis.Marc Nordon Racing has evolved from many highly successful campaigns in the top flight of British motor racing both as a driver and an engineer, their experience includes:
· MGF Cup
· Renault Clio Cup
· British Touring Car Championship
From this experience and their engineering background it seemed like a logical step to combine racing and a love for fast cars, which in late 2003 resulted in them starting work on their VortX Lotus Seven-inspired range. What could have easily been just another clone of the LotusSevenInspiredSportscar (LSIS) style car was from the outset designed to be something a little more sophisticated with particular emphasis put on under the skin areas such as the chassis and suspension. Marc’s experience in race cars provided a base on which to form their own car. The chassis construction very much follows the ACB Chapman philosophy of “to increase speed you have to decrease weight” and the MNR space frame constructed from 18-gauge steel, incorporates a deformable structure including side impact protection.
The MNR Sports car range is the result of their extensive knowledge and experience, and boasts many features and components designed to enhance safety, durability, and performance.
Hundreds of kits have left the company’s Yorkshire based workshop the last eight years. MNRacing is an acknowledged quality manufacture and design expert of the LSIS kit and clubman style race and track day car.
MNRacing operates out of clean workshops where they build complete cars and component kits to customer specification. MNR virtually fabricates every steel component on the car. The equipment and facilities required to produce parts from brackets, spacers to the all round tube powdered coated chassis are impressive. The shops computer controlled tube benders and plasma cutters can quickly produce a full set of chassis parts. The chassis parts are then welded in precision chassis jigs by Mark and the same experienced welding staff. CNC equipment also cuts out the all the aluminum panels with such accuracy that MNR can prefit them for the customer before the powder coated chassis leaves the workshop. The net result of all this investment in manufacturing equipments is MNR are able to offer consistent quality torsionally superior round tube fabricated chassis and components at an affordable price, while other manufactures do not offer round tube chassis at all or will charge a premium.
Most importantly Marc and Chris they have earned an enviable reputation of being quality, dependable and honest people to do business with.
